Vacation?

Mom, dad and the biped puppies just got back Sunday from their vacation to Branson over Thanksgiving. They were very glad to be home.

The vacation started on the tail of a very hard week. If you will remember they had several things break on them, and a stomach virus made the rounds.

The trip started out Thursday, but as dad was checking over the truck he found that a tire had warped on the sidewall. Evidently that is a very bad thing. Dad checked the other three and found no warping but did find cracks on the side wall that ran around the tire just below the tread, (also a bad thing). So before the trip could even start, they had to go by Wal-Mart and pickup 4 new tires for the truck. This delayed them by just over 3 hours, but the delay was nothing compared to the safety of the family.

They did not arrive in time to do anything on Thursday night but hit the ground running late Friday morning. They started by going to a new shopping center and the big black Friday sales, but did not get to spend long there, and mom was pulled away like a cat off of a tree, so the family could go to Silver Dollar City.
Mom and Dad discussed how disappointed they were with several things at Silver Dollar city. While a new section was added for kids, that was nice for younger bipeds, several kid shows had been retooled. At the detriment to the kids having a fun interactive show singing Christmas carols were now single acts of non-interactive story telling that a majority of kids lost interest in fairly quickly.

Sunday before heading back home, they stopped back by the mall to allow mom to do her Christmas shopping that she was unable to complete on Friday. Dad tried to be sneaky and pick up a small Tim Cotterill frog that mom fell in love with called Forest. However this being the first piece of artwork that Dad bought from a gallery, dad did not know there would be paperwork to fill out, and mom caught him. Needless to say, mom received her present early.

All in all they are very glad to be home. And I will keep the tails of the wild parties I threw in the shop building to my self, the attendees, and the FBI.

Sleepover results.

Well, the weekend did not go as bad as I thought it would… for me. Meagan’s birthday party went well, all the little girls had a blast, and I spend the night in the nice quiet shop building. I will add a few pictures as soon as I get a chance, but it has been a busy weekend.

Dad woke up Saturday morning to a heater that would not come on, just blew air… air that had been sent through the duct work in the nice cold attic to be exact. So mom and dad used the fireplace insert to keep us all toasty. Dad went to cut some more wood that morning, and found his chainsaw had a cracked fuel line. I can’t repeat the words that said, because there are things that even I will not do.

Mom and Dad know that things come in threes, so they kept waiting for it to hit. They went to bed Saturday night thinking they might have been given a temporary reprieve by the third event. At Ten o’clock it hit. In the form of a biped little girl at the side of the bed saying she did not feel so goo..... Blaghhhhh all over the bed! Mom and Dad were up like a shot helping Meagan to the bathroom. This continued ever 30 minutes till about five Sunday morning with the added bonus of spewing from the back end as well.

Sunday Meagan was on ice chips and apple sauce, and all of the leaking had stopped. This morning Meagan still was not feeling well, so she is staying home.

Worse than a trip to the Vet?

Dog, am I dreading this weekend. It is Meagan’s birthday, but that is not the problem. The problem is that Mom and Dad are letting this biped puppy have a sleepover. Do you know what it is going to be like having 10 or so girls all the age of around 7 or so? And I am not talking dog years here either!

Dog, am I worried about it… I just don’t know what I am going to do. Dad at least has a room to hide in. I just hope that he will let me stay with him. I will not let them put bows on me. This dog does not wag that way. I will take a finger off first.

Halloween

Halloween was a bit exciting for some us this year. Dad was still sick, so he and I guarded the house… Well the truth is I guarded the house and he played Call of Duty2 on the Xbox. Mom took the two biped puppies to Jacksonville to go to a carnival in their costumes. They met up with Ethan and Emma long enough for some pictures. The kids had a blast, and detailed the nights events to Dad and I when they got home.

For as long as we have been in this house, I can count the number of trick-or-treaters we have had on one paw. This year, while dad was playing his video games, I was laying on the couch staring into the dark outside. I saw some suspicious movement so I eased out a low rumble of a growl. A knock at the door sent me flying into an all out barking fit. Dad placed me outside so I could get a better view, and he gave the intruders a treat! I could not believe my brown eyes!

Better not have been one of my rawhides!

Can't a dog get a break!

Dad went back to work today, so you would think I would be in for some nice quiet time. Wrong! The biped puppies are out of school today and friday. I can't fetch a break this week!
