New smells in the house.

I knew something was up last night. Mom and Dad took all the furniture out of the den and placed it all in the kids play area. Then today it happened, I was out guarding the yard when mom and dad took the puppies to church, then my puppy senses started to tingle. A puppy senses is something that all of us K-9s have. This tells us when you are almost home so we can be waiting at the door, gate or window to greet you with a wagging tale. In my case, it could only mean that they were almost home, but this time the tingle was a bit different. Up they came, into the drive with Nana and Papa in their truck behind them. After a couple of hours of unpacking, there were two new couches and a recliner in the den.

When I was allowed back into the house, I wondered up the new furniture, but man was mom touchy about them, I was just sniffing them, and I heard mom yell my name in a tone that told me quite clearly that I'd better keep my furry butt off of them. But I felt better when mom used the same tone with two puppies.

The funny part of all of this, is mom did this with the last new couch and love seat that she got. She made very sure that none of the kids ate or drank any where near them. Then one day, mom was not feeling well, so she drank some Hawaiian punch to try and settle her stomach. Yea you guessed it, she vomited red punch all over her new couch, staining it. She tried to clean it, but with her not feeling well, she used something that bleached the spot, voiding the Scotchgard warranty. Dad did not let her live it down, every time she told the kids today, about not eating on the couch, dad would trow in a jab about no red punch!
